Saint-Paul-de-Montminy, Quebec,  February 25,  2026 — Kruger Energy, l’Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est, and Potentia Renewables Inc (Potentia) are pleased to announce that the Government of Quebec has authorized the Saint-Paul-de-Montminy Wind Farm Project. This wind farm will generate green energy to meet Quebec’s energy needs and will contribute to the province’s decarbonization goals.

With a capacity of 196 MW, the wind farm will be developed in the municipalities of Saint-Paul-de-Montminy, Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire and Sainte-Apolline-de-Patton. It is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2027.

“We are extremely proud to see the Quebec government authorize the Saint-Paul-de-Montminy Wind Farm. Over the past few years, active collaboration with the local community has led to a project that is interesting on all levels for the local community and for all communities of eastern Quebec, both environmentally, socially, and economically.”
Michel Lagacé, President, Eastern Energy Alliance

“We are proud to partner with Kruger Energy and the Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est on the Saint-Paul-de-Montminy Wind Farm. This facility reflects the strength of collaborative development and the partners’ shared commitment to providing low-cost energy that enhances grid reliability and meets Quebec’s growing power needs. At Potentia, we prioritize long-term partnerships with host communities and regional stakeholders, and we look forward to working together to ensure the project delivers meaningful environmental and economic benefits across the region.”
Ben Greenhouse, Chief Executive Officer, Potentia

Kruger Energy and its partners have committed to ensuring that a minimum of 60% of the total project costs will be spent in Quebec.

The partners involved have substantial experience in implementing wind energy projects. Kruger Energy operates two sites in Quebec: the Des Cultures Wind Farm, developed in collaboration with Kahnawà:ke Sustainable Energy, and the Montérégie Wind Farm. Additionally, Kruger Energy is active in Ontario, where it manages the Port Alma and Chatham wind farms. The Alliance operates four wind farms with various partners in Eastern Quebec and is developing seven more, partnering with private developers and Hydro-Québec in one instance. Potentia currently operates over 900 MW of wind energy in Canada and the United States and is preparing to enter the construction phase for a 200 MW wind project in Saskatchewan.  The partners responsible for developing the Saint-Paul-de-Montminy Wind Farm are dedicated to respecting and engaging with the host communities to promote a sustainable and united future.

The project will create over 300  jobs during its construction and 3-5 permanent jobs during its 30 years of operation. Over the life of the project, it is expected that the Alliance member communities will share an estimated $198 million, and the project’s host communities will receive $20.1 million in firm payments.
