Kruger Energy invited Montérégie residents to come and see its wind turbines up close during a July 8 Open House that attracted more than 1,400 people to the site of its future wind farm.

Visitors went to the meeting point at the La Branche Sugar Shack in the Municipality of Saint-Isidore, and were shuttled right up to the base of three different wind turbines.

They learned more about how wind turbines work and wind farm construction, saw nacelles and rotors up close, and even took a look inside a wind turbine.

Kruger Energy employees were on hand to answer visitors’ questions.

The Montérégie Wind Farm consists in 44 2.3-MW wind turbines located in the Municipalities of Saint-Isidore, Saint-Rémi, Saint-Michel, Saint-Constant and Mercier.
