Sawmills (Wholly-owned)
In 20 years, Kruger has become one of eastern Canada's major
lumber producers. Residual wood chips from sawmills are the
main source of fiber supply for the majority of Kruger pulp
and paper mills. This close link between paper mills and sawmills
allows for the optimal utilization of each tree harvested.
The Kruger sawmills produce a wide range of rough, dressed
dry or green lumber products for the construction industry.
The
Declaration of Principles - Sustainable Forest Management
applies to the entire Forest and Wood Products Business Unit
of Kruger Inc.: the Longue-Rive Planing and Drying Mill, Scierie
Manic and Scierie HCN, on the North Shore, St-Séverin-de-Proulxville
and St-Roch-de-Mékinac sawmills as well as Scierie Parent,
in Parent, Mauricie and Scierie Gallichan, in Launay, Abitibi.
Sawmills (Interests)
Kruger also has interests in Scierie Landrienne, in the Abitibi
region, in Québec and Moose River Lumber Company Limited
in Moose River, Maine.
