Lumber and Wood Panels

Kruger first became involved in the lumber sector in 1987, when it acquired an interest in Gérard Crête & Fils. Through the subsequent acquisitions and modernization of sawmills located in Parent, in the Mauricie, Forestville and Longue-Rive on the North Shore, and Launay, Abitibi in Québec; a wood panel mill in Longlac and a subfloor mill (DRIcore^® and Subfloor^®) in Mississauga, Ontario, the construction of a sawmill, in Ragueneau, on the North Shore in Québec, and more recently with the acquisition of the total share capital of Gérard Crête & fils inc., Kruger has become a leading producer of lumber and wood panels in the North American and international markets.

The Forest and Wood Products Business Unit plans to remain a leader in technology and environmental performance, as is evidenced by its sustainable forest management certification to ISO 14 000 and CSA standards in Québec and Ontario. Kruger’s primary objective is to ensure customer satisfaction, which means producing top-quality lumber and wood panels, while respecting the environment.
