Kruger and the Forest
A Natural Connection
Whether in Newfoundland, Québec, Ontario or British
Columbia, the forest, teaming with life, is an endless source
of wonder. It is also the economic heart of many communities
and the origin of innumerable preferred products. Kruger is
particularly proud to be a part of all this. That is why the
company strongly supports and practices sustainable forest management. |

Maintaining Biodiversity
The richness of a natural environment depends in large part
on its biological diversity. That is why Kruger’s
team of experts chooses forest management methods and strategies
that protect the many forest resources. |
Forest access road construction, timber harvesting and silviculture
are all guided by stringent environmental protection standards.
We are particularly careful to protect the quality of water.
Wooded strips are left along riverbanks and around lakes to
maintain wildlife habitats and to preserve the esthetic value
of the forest. Special attention is also paid to the protection
of sensitive sites, such as waterfowl habitats and peatlands,
and to the maintenance of a variety of tree species.
At Kruger, maintaining biodiversity is an ever increasing and
constant concern. Given the scope of the challenge, and in order
to ensure a solid foundation for our forest management activities,
more and more steps are being taken to improve our knowledge
of forest ecology.
