Kruger and the Forest
A Natural Connection

Whether in Newfoundland, Québec, Ontario or British Columbia, the forest, is an endless source of wonder. It is also at the heart of economic activity for many communities. Kruger is particularly proud to contribute to its protection through sustainable forest management practices that meet the highest standards and are third-party certified.

Maintaining Biodiversity

The richness of a natural environment depends in large part on its biological diversity. That is why Kruger’s team of experts chooses forest management methods and strategies that protect the many forest resources.

Forest access road construction, timber harvesting and silviculture are all guided by stringent environmental protection standards.

We are particularly careful to protect the quality of water and wooded strips are left intact along riverbanks and around lakes to maintain wildlife habitats and to preserve the aesthetic value of the forest. Special attention is also paid to the protection of sensitive areas, such as waterfowl habitats and peatlands, and to the maintenance of a variety of tree species.

At Kruger, maintaining biodiversity is an ever increasing and constant concern. Given the scope of the challenge, and in order to ensure a solid foundation for our forest management activities, more and more measures are taken to improve our knowledge of forest ecology.
